Local Premier Teams

As with many other sports, more reps and stick time will improve your lax IQ and skills. Joining a premier club for the summer-winter seasons is a great way to get a boost on your game: different teammates; different coaching; great summer tournaments, camps and clinics.... its all good.

Northern Ohio offer several premier lacrosse clubs for boys and girls. In addition to teams, each offers various camps, clinics, training and other activities throughout the year. The following list and links (in no particular order) are for some of these clubs...we have had kids at all of these and know the program directors well. Ask your head coach if you have any questions or want suggestions.

Burning River runs lacrosse leagues, camps, clinics, and teams throughout the year. Check out the website for details, as well as a ton of lax news and information.

Woody Calleri runs Burning River, and he is a former head coach at St. Ignatius. He is a big supporter of community lacrosse programs, and is a friend and supporter of Bay Lacrosse.

"Burning River Lacrosse was founded in 2005 to provide developmental lacrosse opportunities at all levels (introduction to the game, improvement of skills, national competition and college exposure) to Northern Ohio's lacrosse community.  The company also hosts charity events such as the Fisher House Showcase (home away from homes for military families) and Shorting Cancer (Breast Cancer Research) to raise money and awareness for those in need and to teach participants about their responsibility to reach out and make a difference in the lives of others.

Xcelerate offers camps, clinics and teams throughout the year. In addition, Xcelerate has 4 day overnight, summer camps--one for boys an done for girls--at Baldwin Wallace (and elsewhere). Click here for the Xcelerate website.

Xcelerate is run by Brian Lalley, the head coach at St Edwards. Quite a few Bay kids play, and have played, for Xcelerate, and Brian is a friend and supporter of Bay Lacrosse.

"At Xcelerate Lacrosse Club Teams our goal as an organization is to target lacrosse players who are not only committed to improving their skills, but who also show a selfless dedication to teamwork, a willingness to be coached, and an appreciation for the importance of good citizenship and strong character.

  • Our club program will also look to provide an equal opportunity for each student-athlete in the college recruiting process.
